Who Are We?
Our national, actually international, organization, the Christian Motorcyclists Association is made up of many local groups, which are called chapters.
We are not clubs nor do we compete with or try to replace clubs.
Although we enjoy Christian fellowship among ourselves, that is not the purpose of the CMA or Vision Riders. The vision statement of the CMA on the Web page (cmausa.org) states: “Changing the world, one heart at a time.” Basically, we are an evangelistic organization that exists to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because we ride motorcycles, we can spread that Gospel to areas where many evangelists can’t go or would be ineffective because they would appear to be an outsider.
If you are the type of person that can present the Gospel to individuals, that is great! If you are not a good speaker or presenter, we can use you too. Our members have many talents that they use to glorify God besides talking to individuals.
Where Do We Come From?
For the most part, most of us have 2 basic things in common: Jesus Christ as our savior and the love of motorcycles. You don’t have to belong to a particular church to join our chapter, although we do encourage membership in a local church. Our members come from many different churches and all of us share the basic doctrine of Christianity. If you are not sure, please check the CMA Web page. When you click on Ministry of CMA, it will take you to a page with a doctrinal statement you can read. If you agree with those basic doctrines and have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, you are welcome to join us.
If you are not sure about something or wish to observe, you are welcome to do that. You do not have to be a member to attend our meetings or go on our rides. Take your time and watch and listen to see if you wish to be a part of our chapter. Ask any questions you may have to any member. If they don’t have the answer, they can point you to someone that does. By the way, there are no dues to belong.
Our regular monthly meetings are on the first Thursday of the month and are held at the Creek Side restaurant, just north of Campbellsville, on Rt. 68. Click on the events page to be sure. We sometimes change our meeting dates when they fall on or are near a holiday. We meet in the second floor dining room. Those that wish to have a meal before the meeting arrive at 6 pm Eastern; the business meeting starts at 7 pm Eastern.
